This instruction sheet will guide you through configuring Microsoft Explorer & Mail to work with Micro.Com Specialists’ Internet Service.

Configure Internet Explorer
1. Click the "Start" button, point to "Programs", then click on "Internet Explorer".
2. Under the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options..."
3. Click the "Connections" tab.
4. Make sure that your KC Micro connection is highlighted in the "dial-up settings" box..
5. Make sure the option "Always dial my default connection" is selected.
6. Click the "General" tab. drop-down list, then click on "Start Page".
7. In the box labeled "Address", type: http://www.micro.com
8. Click the "OK" button.

Configure Internet Mail
1. Click the "Start" button, point to "Programs", then click on "Internet Mail".
2. Under the "Mail" menu, select "Options..."
3. Click the "Server" tab.
4. In the box labeled "Name:", type your real name.
5. In the box labeled "Email address:", type your email address (e.g. support@micro.com).
6. Under the section labeled "Servers", in the box labeled "Outgoing Mail (SMTP)", type: micro.com
7. In the box labeled "Incoming mail (POP3)", type: micro.com
8. In the section labeled "Logon Settings", click the circle next to the words "Logon using" so that a dot appears inside it.
9. In the box labeled "Account name", type your username (e.g. support).
10. In the box labeled "Password", type your password.
11. Click the "Connection" tab.
12. In the section labeled "Connection", click the circle next to the words "I use a modem to access my e-mail" so that a dot appears in it.
13. Under "Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection", click on the down arrow to present the drop-down list, then click on "Dial Micro.Com".
14. Click the "OK" button.

Checking Your E-mail
1. Click the "Start" button, point to "Programs", then click on "Internet Mail".
2. Click the "Send and Receive" button on the button bar.
3. If the "Mail Logon" window appears, in the box labeled "Password", type your password.
4. Click the little box next to "Remember Password" so that a checkmark appears in it.
5. Click the "OK" button.
 Configure Internet News
1. Click the "Start" button, point to "Programs", then click on "Internet News".
2. Under the "News" menu, select "Options..."
3. Click the "Server" tab.
4. In the section labeled "News Server(s)", click the "Add..." button.
5. In the box labeled "News server name:", type: news.micro.com
6. Click the "Connection" tab.
7. Click the circle next to the words "I use a modem to access my newsgroups" so that a dot appears in it.
8. Under "Use the following Dial-up networking connection", click on the down arrow to present the drop-down list, then click on "Dial Micro.Com".
9. Click the "OK" button in the "News Server Properties" window.
10. Click the "OK" button in the "Options" window.
