Now that you're connected to the WWW server, you can send your files to your WWW area.
The first thing you should notice is that the screen is divided into two
halves - the left displaying the contents of the current local directory and the
right displaying the contents of the current remote directory. The current
local directory is most likely wrong. You must change to the directory where
your WWW files are stored on your hard drive.

Your remote directory should be correct. You can make sure by clicking

| NOTE that if you are maintaining a virtual domain, you will see an additional subdirectory when you first login. This subdirectory is named "cgi-bin" and is for CGI scripts used by your pages. If you don't know what CGI scripts are, just leave the directory alone. The public_html directory listed in your home directory is where you want to upload your files to. Though files for virtual domains are actually stored elsewhere on the server, this has been made invisible to you. |
Once the correct directories are selected on either end, highlight the files
you want to transfer and click
When the upload is complete, WS_FTP will automatically update the listing of files on the right side of the screen. |
All that is left at this point is to secure the files and disconnect correctly.
